SENIOR QA TESTER

REMOTE

POSITION SUMMARY:

Katipult’s QA Team is looking for a Senior QA Tester. The successful applicant will know how to implement a continuous integration system into the Katipult system, and will provide insight on the best methods to execute clear testing procedures in the company. 

The Senior QA Tester will be responsible for QA testing as part of a QA team, cooperate with many Backend Developers, dedicated DevOps and 2 executives with hands on coding experience in order to put solutions in place that increase the quality of our product.

QA Tester will also be responsible for improving the processes used by the QA team. This position will be working in an environment where cross skilling is essential, and quality is the responsibility of everyone within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Suggest processes and workflows for the QA team
  • Suggest tools to improve efficiency and quality
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Deep understanding of the software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking and reporting)
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Prior experience driving issue resolutions with development Excellent written and verbal communication skills interact across all levels from junior members to senior management
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive software defect reports as Jira tickets
  • Hands-on experience with testing on multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices
  • Understanding of programming for the web and basic web security
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
  • Adaptive, flexible and comfortable working in a matrix environment as a team member or an individual contributor.
  • Quick learner and self starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
